Sonoya was introduced to audiences as Kyoko opposite Alicia Vikander and Oscar Isaac in EX MACHINA, Alex Garland’s directorial debut. Her other credits include Damien Chazelle’s multi-award winning LA LA LAND, ANNIHILATION with Natalie Portman, The Warner Brothers’ Box Office smash, CRAZY RICH ASIANS based on the cult novels of the same name and Netflix’s hit series MANIAC opposite Emma Stone and Jonah Hill from director Cary Fukanaga. She has recently been seen playing the lead role in Alex Garland’s critically acclaimed series, DEVS for FX/BBC2.

Sonoya is a series regular on HBO’s hit series, THE HOUSE OF THE DRAGON. She can also currently be seen in Randall Park’s SHORTCOMINGS. Her other recent film credits include AM I OK opposite Dakota Johnson on HBOMax, ETERNAL RETURN opposite Kit Harrington and Naomi Scott and DEEP COVER for Amazon.
