One of Europe’s most celebrated actresses, Carice is known for her lead roles in Paul Verhoeven’s award-winning BLACK BOOK, Bryan Singer’s VALKYRIE opposite Tom Cruise and HBO’s global sensation, GAME OF THRONES. Other awards include Best Actress for BLACK BUTTERFLIES at the Tribeca Film Festival. Her credits include, Bill Condon’s THE FIFTH ESTATE, voicing a character in THE SIMPSONS, and the Jesse Owens biopic, RACE with Jason Sudekis and Jeremy Irons. 

Her portrayal of The Red Woman, Lady Melisandre, in the final season of GAME OF THRONES earned her an Emmy nomination. Other television credits include two seasons of TEMPLE on Sky with Mark Strong and DANGEROUS LIAISONS for Starz.
